Graphical Alert Viewer For Level Platforms' Managed Workplace

SoxNOC LPI Alert Viewer

Thank you for your interest in purchasing SoxNOC!

Please read the following to ensure that you are buying something that will work for you.

System Requirements:

  • Level Platform's Managed Workplace Service Center 2009 R1 SP2 - Tested with SP1 and SP2. Current major version officially requires the latest LPI MW SC version.

  • You must have access to your SC's SQL server - You will also need full administrator rights on the SQL server for proper setup (SoxNOC only uses Read-Only access during operation). We don't believe that LPI will allow the required access to the hosted version (but we haven't asked).

  • Windows XP or Newer - Tested on XP SP2, SP3, Vista SP1, SP2, Server 2003 SP2, MS Virtual PC hosting Vista SP2. Only 32-bit Operating systems have been checked. If the trial runs, it should work. :)

  • GDI+ 2D Video Capabilities - Most machines since Windows XP's inception have this.

  • Microsoft DirectX 7.0 (or better) - Optional - Used only for Audio alerts (DirectSound). If unavailable the program will still function, but audio alerts will be disabled.

Versions:

SoxNOC is sold in two versions:

  1. "With Lifetime Upgrades" - This option includes 'lifetime' upgrades to the latest version, as well as 'lifetime' email support. What is 'lifetime' you may ask? We define the lifetime ending at time of its owners (currently Techie's Tools) dropping support for the product. As long as we own it, and we need it, we'll keep updating it. Since our life-cycle depends on Level Platforms, their continued co-operation is also required. Also includes two Registration Key refreshes per year, in case you lose the hard drive it's locked to.

  2. "Newest Version Only" - This option is to get yourself a registration key for the current major revision. During that version's life-cycle we will alert you about any bugfixes to that version at the email address provided for the transaction. For example, if you buy a key for V1.0, you are good for any bugfixes that apply to v1. We stop supporting versions that are 2 major versions old. This means that when version 3.0 is released version 1.xx will no longer be supported, but version 2.xx bugfix support will continue (until version 4.0 comes out, etc.). Includes no Registration Key refreshes, and no direct support.

What Triggers New Major Versions:

There are a few reasons that a new Major version will be required, instead of a bugfix. The two most common are:
  • New Features - Currently Versions 2.0 and 3.0 and already under development with new feature sets. These versions will replace GDI+ graphics and move 3D (currently using OpenGL) to allow more special effects, provide HUD modes, and more graphical alert details, as well as user requests that come along.

  • Data structure change by Level Platforms - If LPI decides to alter the structure of their database in a way that causes current versions of SoxNOC to fail. We do our best to obtain these changes in advance of their general release dates, and once we know if the structure has changed we will release a new version to support it, if required.

Protection/Install Code:

  • Once you register the software, it will be locked to the hard drive the Install Code was generated on.

  • You can lock it to a USB drive if you feel you'll need to move its host frequently.

  • To generate your Install Code run SoxNOC, click on the Question Mark and then click the Register Button to obtain your Install Code.

  • Your Registration Key is stored in the folder SoxNOC is run from, in a sub-folder named "yourkey". If you delete this folder, or it's contents, SoxNOC will revert to trial mode. Back up that folder! As replacement keys may require repurchasing.

  • Our advice is to lock it to a drive and share it across your network so multiple people can use it (if required) with only one Registration Key.

  • If you want to run multiple instances on one system, we recommend making a copy of your SoxNOC folder. As long as it's on the same hard drive it will remain registered.

Payment:

  • Unless otherwise noted, prices are in Canadian Dollars.

  • We accept various common credit cards and we use Paypal to process these payments. We've looked around, used other systems, and for what we want to do Paypal is currently the best choice for many reasons.

  • "I don't have/want a Paypal account!"

  • If you would still prefer to arrange another payment method, please email us and we can make arrangements.
